Idelewild’s album, Post Electric Blues is a great album for any American rock and roll fan. Americana guitar riffs packed with loud drums give the record a guitar driven sound. The definitive influences of early classic rock morph their sound into a vintage neo-Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers sound. (The Night Will) Bring You Back To Life is a great acoustic break in the c.d. Although it is a good break, I did start to fall asleep during the soft vocals and xylophone. The next track, Dreams of Nothing brings you back into the mix, but loses its classrock vibe. Overall the record is a good generic Americana Rock and Roll record with a modern feel.

It does not get much more generic than this. This attempt at a post grunge, Metallica style band is very unprofessional. I sense very little musical talent. Unfortunatley these guys should have spent a few more years in the garage polishing their songs, rather than deciding to cut a record. I would best describe this c.d. as a cliché attempt at trying to form your own generic heavy metal/ rock band in three days. I try to respect all music for what it is, but to this c.d. I can give very little respect. I’m sure they have worked hard, and I respect that, but I can not respect their apathetic lyrics, and rough attempts at becoming a local “garage band.”
