Emotionally gripping album Departure Songs from Hammock hits the climax of experimental rock.  For fans of Explosions in the Sky or From Monuments to Masses this album will complete your collection.  The concept takes the listener on a journey through the mind.  Hammock capitalizes on atmospheres and percussion, then introduces mind blowing guitars.  Grab Departure Songs, your favorite headphones or best speakers and sit back and experience this amazing album. -Tom Taylor

The Maldives - Muscle for the Wing

I really enjoyed listening to the sooth sounds of The Maldives.  Similar to one of the bands I reviewed last week their sound is very unique.  They could probably fall under the rock genre, but they definitely have a little country flare to them.  A review online called their sound “alt-country” and I thought that was pretty accurate.  They have a wide variety of sounds in their songs which is always cool to see.  There are certain times in which the words in the song would stop for an extended period and normally this would bother me, but their instrumentals were very smooth and easy to listen to. ” Lately I” was my favorite song on the album.  This is definitely an album I could see myself listening to frequently in the future, so give it a listen and see if you think the same! -Chris Cusick

Santah - You're Still a Lover

Santah’s album You’re Still A Lover is some serious quality! With steady rhythms and lyrics that are relatable in both good and bad ways this band has the potential to become very popular. The band shows a good variety in this album and though the EP is only 5 songs you’ll want to keep repeating it because these songs are catchy and fun. I’d definitely  keep my out in the future for them to become a really big name. I’d definitely reccommend this to anyone looking for up and coming bands to tell their friends about. -Mariah Davis

Arc in Round - [Eponymous EP]

Philadelphia’s Arc In Round’s self titled EP is a playful blend of male and female vocals.  The group creatively mixes interesting instrumental sections with catchy leads.  Lyrically, the music will resonate with any fan of indie-rock.  Keep your eyes open for Arc In Round as they are starting to tour and are about to hit the scene with a boom. -Tom Taylor

Sam Sliva and the Good - ...And People Say

Sam Sliva’s album …And The People Say is a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. If you’re not a fan of country music, like myself, don’t let that turn you off because skipping on this would be a huge mistake. Sam proves to be an amazing artist with legit meaningful lyrics and a talent with music. This album is a big go for anyone who wishes indie music was a little more…complicated. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for something different and you like talented musicians. -Mariah Davis
