Gospel Gossip – Atlantic Blue 7″

The first thing that caught my eye about this album was the catchy band name, Gospel Gossip. The trio from Minneapolis, MN has been labeled Guilt Ridden Pop, a new genre coined to fit the gap between pop and alternative rock. Their album Atlantic Blue 7″ has a mellow drone that is perfect for repeated listening. The three songs on the album, Atlantic Blue, Behind, and Sad Machines, are all very similar, but also have their own subtle differences. I’d recommend this album to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Guilt Ridden Pop genre, and the narrowing gap between pop music and indie rock. -Mallory Spencer
