Turchi – Can’t Bury Your Past

From the roots deep in American music, Turchi bring the sound of the kudzu boogie, a blend of slide-guitar fuzz and Deep-South trance. This style twang and deep vocals bring images of southern hillsides and wooden cabins. “Take Me Back Home” opens the album with just that; tunes that elicit memories of home and the longing to be there. “Bring on Fire, Bring on Rain” is a great transition in deeper soul-searching melodies. And “450 Miles” brings it all together throughout the movement you take while listening to this album. -Matthew Malick
